WHAT'S HAPPENING

The Law Enforcement Torch Run International Executive Council is proud to announce that we will be hosting a Global Virtual Torch Run in 2020.

2019 LETR CONFERENCE - DENVER

The Law Enforcement Torch Run International Executive Council is proud to announce that we will be hosting a Global Virtual Torch Run in 2020.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has meant that many things have had to change this year.

Traditionally, one of the highlights of the LETR International Conference is the 5km Torch Run which is held on the final day of the Conference. In recent years, we have run from Coors Field to Mile High Stadium in Denver, along the 'Strip' in Las Vegas and through Disneyworld in Orlando.

With the cancellation of the 2020 LETR International Conference due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Council went looking for ways to celebrate our successes and help the Torch Run community stay connected.

We believe that a Virtual Torch Run held on a grand global scale can meet those goals.

The 2020 LETR International Conference Torch Run would have been held on Sunday, September 20, 2020.

What better day than that to run the inaugural Global Virtual Torch Run

We'd love you to join us on September 20 but if you can't make that day, you can still do your run on any day in September

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE GLOBAL VIRTUAL TORCH RUN?

But you can also do the Torch Run anytime in September 2020

EVERYWHERE - In your home town or in a city near you - IT'S GLOBAL

2018 LETR CONFERENCE - LAS VEGAS

The big day for the Global Virtual Torch Run is Sunday, September 20, 2020 but that doesn't mean that you have to wait till then to run - or miss out if you can't make it on the day.

You can complete your run anytime in September. Remember to post photos and/or video of your run on social media using the #globaltorchrun.

You can run, walk or cycle anywhere you like. It could be in your suburb, town or village, in a city near you, past an iconic building or landmark. You can run alone or in a group (complying with your local social distancing rules of course) - don't forget to wear something that identifies you as a Torch Runner or Special olympics athlete, family member, staff member or supporter.

It doesn't have to 5km either. You can run 10km if you want! (or 4km or 2km or even 1km). It's not about the distance that you cover - it's more about the effort you m are to participate.

Just remember to share your images and video on social media so that the world gets to see that LETR is a true global movement

2017 LETR CONFERENCE - NASHVILLE

Let's make something very clear here - this event is not about fundraising - there are no registration fees required to participate

This event is all about making sure that we don't forget about the athletes - doing something together (but apart) that will hopefully give all of you an opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues in the global Torch Run community and of course the athletes of Special Olympics.

We have created six Registration Categories:

Law Enforcement Torch Runner
Special Olympics athlete
Athlete's Family
Special Olympics Staff
Corporate Partner
Supporter

If you think you fit into one of those categories then you are free to join us - and it is FREE to join us.

But we do want you to register - so we have an idea about how many of you will be participating on the day - we'll also be looking for you to confirm your participation after the event and tell us how far you ran - or walked - or cycled
