LETR International Conference Scholarship Application

The LETR International Conference Scholarship provides financial assistance to support participation in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Conference. Through the LETR Executive Council Growth Fund, this scholarship is intended to help emerging and under-resourced programs access valuable learning, networking, and collaboration opportunities.

The LETR International Conference brings together law enforcement leaders, Special Olympics representatives, and LETR volunteers from around the world to share best practices, strengthen partnerships, and advance the global LETR movement.

This application is designed for programs seeking support for travel, lodging, and/or registration expenses. Priority is given to programs that demonstrate a clear need, a commitment to growth, and a plan to apply knowledge and relationships gained from the conference to strengthen their local LETR efforts.

Applicants will be asked to outline their goals for attending, anticipated impact, and how they will implement what they learn within their program.

Funding is limited and awarded through an annual review process by the LETR Executive Council. The application period for the 2026 LETR International Conference closes on July 31, 2026, and programs will be notified of scholarship recipients in early August.

Emerging Program
A Special Olympics Program that is in the early stages of developing its Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). This may include building initial law enforcement relationships, hosting first-time events, or establishing foundational structure and leadership.

Under-Resourced Program
A Special Olympics Program with an established or developing LETR that is experiencing financial, staffing, or capacity limitations that impact its ability to grow, sustain, or fully participate in LETR activities and opportunities.

Established Program
A Special Olympics Program with an active and sustained LETR, demonstrated through ongoing events, consistent law enforcement engagement, and a history of fundraising and program development.
