Athlete Award

The LETR International Executive Council Athlete Award was created to recognize outstanding Special Olympics Athletes who have contributed to the success of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® on a local, state or national level.

• Criteria: Nominees should be an active Special Olympics Athlete who contributes to Torch Run and Special Olympics in spirit, dedication and enthusiasm in an effective fashion.
• Required Documents: Complete nomination form, Minimum of two Letters of support from individuals who have worked closely with the nominee and, 6-8 digital photos
• Approvals: Nominations must be submitted via the nominator’s LETR and Special Olympics Program. The knowledge & approval of the Special Olympics Program CEO and LETR Director are also required.
• Nomination Period: Nominations are open through Friday, June 20, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET. Please email your nomination to letr@specialolympics.org.
